What Love Actually IS…

Worth reading often…

From a talk given by Werner Erhard on the Experience of Love in 1973

“Let me tell you what love actually is. Love is the experience that someone’s all right the way they are. It’s not all the garbage. This thing about songs and all that survival stuff. All the stuff you talk about. What love actually is, is the experience that someone else is all right exactly the way they are. To love somebody you have to choose for them to be the way they are. Exactly. Not, “Gee, if you’d only cut your hair, then… you know, it would be okay.” No, it’s got to be all right just that way. That’s perfect, that’s absolutely perfect, just that way. And, they’ve got to be all right the way they’re not. Now, if you make something all right the way it is and all right the way it’s not, what’s another word for that? Space. The person’s got the space to be. You know, they can be. They can be the way they are and they don’t have to. Because it’s all right with you for them not to be the way they are. And it’s all right with you for them to be the way they are. That’s love.

The bottom line is to accept the person the way they are and the way they are not, that’s love. Let me put it in more fundamental terms. To be able to tolerate someone the way they are and the way they are not – is loving them. The highest expression of love is the experience that you are creating that person exactly the way they are. They are your creation exactly the way they are, and you are creating the space for them to be any other way. That’s an ultimate expression of love. To create the space for people to be the way they are and to create the space for people to be the way they aren’t. That’s it. And if you’ll notice, there’s no survival, and it’s not worth anything. It’s not worth a thing. The only thing that happens to a person functioning in that space is that they discover themselves. The person creating that space – you know what happens to them? They discover themselves. That’s pretty much it on love. No big deal. It’s not all that complicated. It is relatively simple, just not so easy to do.

And what I’d like to do is to get to a little bit of what love is, and then take a little bit closer look at what blocks us from experiencing what love is, and essentially love is …. And that’s it. See, it isn’t any more complicated than that. And it’s very difficult to get that. You see, what’s very difficult to get is that’s all there is. All the rest of it is an illusion. You see “I love you” is an illusion. It really is. And I really hate to break people’s illusions up. I shouldn’t say that because I really enjoy doing it; it’s my business. (laughter) And I would really like to communicate that “I love you” is an illusion. And if you take a look at “I love you” you’ll see that “I love you” has to come from … (interruption) … So, this idea of “I love you” is really an illusion and I think if you’ll look at it with me for just a moment, you’ll see that it’s an illusion. If I walked up and say “I love you” that’s got to come out of the notion that I might not. You see, it’s got to come from a sense that there’s something other than “I love you”. It’s got to mean “not other things” and “not before I found out that I did, but now I love you”; and “I don’t love other things, I love you – and not other things”. You see, this whole struggle that you and I go through to achieve love, to get love, to have love, to be loved, to love each other; this whole thing that everybody keeps preaching about is all nonsense.

The fastest way to destroy love is to make a goal out of it, because people who are trying to be loved come from a place that they’re not loved. And people who are trying to love come from a place that they don’t love. And people who admonish other people about loving each other, never got it, they just never got it. That’s all nonsense; that admonishment to love one another. The truth is that that’s all there is. And if you take the barriers out of the way, if you take the pretenses out of the way, if you take those things that you didn’t take responsibility for in your life out of the way, what you have left is love. And that’s really the whole story about love. Love is.”

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, SEEMS LIKE THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY …

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has…

Air is Free!

It isn’t free if, you have to spend time on it, if you have to give out any personal information to get it and it especially isn’t free if you have to find, one, two or more people to pay for it

Air is free.

We have all seen programs offering some version of ‘free’ and I even have some websites that use the word.  In every situation I have seen, the amount of ‘work’ on a free program Funfortuneis as much or more than with a paid.  If no money changes hands, you will not earn any money either.  That said, there are hundreds of worthwhile information and education systems, worth as much as people want to sell them for being offered for no cost to participate. If you do not know what to do, how to succeed and where to begin… go free first.

Yes, words have power. What you complain about becomes your focus, your intention and areYOUhappyit expands the more ‘energy’ you put into it. Continue to complain…or maybe not. If you catch yourself [no one’s going to do it for you] usually because they’re doing it too, begin training yourself to ‘complain’ about what you want.

Most people don’t find or create work that they love.  I don’t think it’s fear either. That is the tried and ‘true’ myth with zero power to motivate anyone I know.  You learned to dislike work and enjoy play.  It’s a story you made up about what might happen or what could be in the future.  Most of the people I know who are not earning anything or even a little using the internet are not having any fun either.  If you were not having any fun, would anyone have fun participating with you? Not likely or if they did, how long would they play with an angry taskmaster?   They have ‘someone’ in their own head already. Who needs two?

Life is too short to work at something you really don’t enjoy and have no passion for. When you do, you will promote it like crazy. That’s how you’ll know and before you know it, you’re flying down the fast lane. Do what you have fun doing and the money will come. You have to trust yourself.

A Rat Pack Concert

I wasn’t even a teenager when this concert aired, beamed to movie theaters  around the US in June 1965.  Dean Martin’s hit the previous August finally bumped the Beatles out of the number one slot on the TOP 40.  Everyone around me was rock and roll, the Beatles and listening to the “English Invasion” at the time.

Something about this music called me, even as child. The first album I ever purchased was Dean Martins “Everybody Loves Somebody” album and I wore it out.  While my sisters and friends listened to the Doors, the Turtles and the ongoing 60’s rock, I was a Rat Pack fan.  My parents didn’t listen to the music either.  This concert is worth putting on while you are doing anything else.  They had fun performing on stage.  They didn’t just ‘play’ it either.

Mayo Clinic Heart Health Excerpts

How many  folks do you know who say they don’t want to drink anything before going to bed because they’ll have to get up during the  night!!

Heart Attack and Water –  I  never knew all of this  ! Interesting…….

Something  else I didn’t know … I asked my Doctor why do people need to urinate so much at night time.  Answer from my Cardiac Doctor –
Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys,  it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. This then ties in with the last  statement!

I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to  me.

Correct  time to drink water… Very Important. From A  Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its  effectiveness on  the  body: 2 glasses  of water after waking up –  helps activate  internal organs

1 glass  of water 30  minutes before a  meal – helps  digestion

1 glass  of water before taking a bath – helps  lower blood pressure

1 glass  of water before going to bed –  avoids stroke or heart  attack

I  can also add to this… My Physician told me  that water  at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie  Horse.

Dr. Virend Somers, is a Cardiologist from the  Mayo Clinic,  who is lead author of the report in the July 29,  2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of  Cardiology.

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally  between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one during the  night, when the heart should be most at rest, means  that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.

If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day,  take it at night.
The reason: Aspirin has a 24-hour “half-life”;  therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.

FYI,  Aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest  for years, (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar).

Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It’s about Heart Attacks –

There are other symptoms of a heart attack,  besides the  pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an  intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of  sweating;  however, these symptoms may also occur less  frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a  heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had  a heart attack during their sleep did not wake  up.  However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake  you up from  your deep sleep.  If that happens, immediately dissolve two  aspirins in your mouth  and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:  – Call 911. – Phone a neighbor or a family member who lives  very close by.

– Say “heart attack!”  – Say that you have taken 2 Aspirins.  – Take a seat on a chair or sofa  near the front door, and wait for their arrival and  …DO NOT LIE DOWN!

In a world that works for everyone, with no one left out and no one left behind, what ‘rules’ need to be added? Removed? Changed?

Werner Erhard and Est

San Francisco – 1980

There’s been a shift in the rules for successful living, according to Werner Erhard.

Speaking to a crowd of some 8,500 at San Francisco’s Cow Palace in January 1980, the founder of “est” told them to look at the world from a “you AND me” perspective, instead of a “you OR me” standpoint.

Departing from philosophies emphasized by self-centered “self-help” publications, Erhard said, “We need a whole new set of rules to live successfully in a ‘you and me’ world. We are still trying to make it with ‘you or me’ rules.”

He said, “In the past, the way I had a glass of water was to hold on to it. Now, the way to assure you have a glass of water is to assure everyone has one.”

The new type of thinking, which Erhard says people have no training for, could breed what might be…
